Children In Need Family Fun Charity Day

Saturday 12th November, 11am – 8pm

A local group of people are holding a fun day aimed at families and children, including; lucky dips, guess the name of the teddy bear, creative arts workshop with various activites suitable, face painting, a fun balloon artist,  pretty embroidery hair wrap, cake stall,  refreshments available,  BBQ and a marquee up outside just in case it’s a rainy day.

11am –  Carol Hunt a famous local author of Portland Chronicles which are children fiction books based around local myth and history, will be here story telling and doing a book signing of her latest book – The Portland Pirates.

4:30pm, a local artist – Mike will be running a water colour demonstration class, which is great for beginner artists or if you just fancy doing something different. He provides materials – paper, paint etc.

6pm: Raffle: Prizes include  an iRoka voucher for £30,  Fish4Feet voucher treatment. A voucher for a family bike rental (up to 5 people), a Body Shop gift set.

Followed by an acoustic performance from local singer – Zoe Dymott.

SPIRIT OF THE SEA: Smugglers, Pirates and Heritage

Saturday 9th  & Sunday 10th July, 11am – 4.30pm

DISPLAY: True tales of smugglers and pirates from Weymouth history and their part in the Old Town Hall. Refreshments available.

UPDATE: Saturday afternoon- Defoe from ‘Bilge Rats’ playing a solo Saturday afternoon. Sunday (from midday-ish) ‘Bilge Rats’ will be performing.

(Entrance to hall & display is free, donations welcome).
