Weymouth Old Town Hall Renovation Help Needed

We need to complete the renovations by the end of January and pull out all the stops in order to obtain materials and skills to complete the building to the criteria that was agreed with the Council. With this is mind, we would be very grateful if you could help us with the final ‘push’, by looking at the list below and seeing if there is anything you could help with in terms of materials, skills or funding donations:

Kitchenette: Kitchen units, shelving, preparation surface, white tiling, Non-slip lino flooring, plumbing sundries including taps, flame retardant plasterboard (5 or 6). Lighting, tiles

Upstairs Toilet: Non-slip lino flooring, appropriate plasterboard (5 approx) wood, white tiles, fixtures and fittings, lighting.

Wheel chair Accessible Disabled Toilet (downstairs): Non-slip lino flooring, appropriate plasterboard (10 approx), wood, white tiles, lighting.

Heating for the Building: 6 storage heaters, 8 Infra-red heaters

Electrical Work for whole building: A qualified Electrician. Re-wiring and replacement of all sockets and switches. Up-lighters, spotlights.

General for Whole Building: Non-hydraulic lime 3.5 x 2 bags, 4 bags of cement, 12 bags of sand. white lime wash paint / distemper (for all ceilings), fine lime putty, haired lime plaster, floor joist. General tools, nuts and bolts, screws, nails, timber, red quary tile polish, stud wall insulation, breathable loft insulation, rubber gloves, Etc.

Windows: Someone who can repair wrought iron windows. 5 litres Black smooth metal paint.

Garrison Re-enactors "Meet & Greet"

Saturday 15th October 2011

Open to Public:  12 noon – 4pm

Free Entry

The ‘Portland Garrison’, a group of volunteer historical re-enactors, are relocating their base to Weymouth’s Old Town Hall from this weekend.

To mark this occasion, the hall will be open on Saturday, so that the public can meet some of the Garrison members and find out about  their activities. Some information and artefacts will be on display too.

With the opportunity to play for junior Morris dance sides at the Dinosaurs Not Allowed showcase >> in Weymouth on Sat 24th September 2011.

Age guideline 12-25 years.
All portable acoustic instruments welcome.
Ability to sight read simple music or learn by ear needed.

There is no cost for the workshop but advance booking required for numbers.

'Bilge Rats'

Today (Sunday 10th July)

The ‘Bilge Rats’ will be playing at the ‘Smugglers, Pirates & Heritage’ event at the Old Town Hall, TODAY – from round about midday-ish.
