Stitch ‘n’ Bitch has spread across many countries and probably originated in America. It’s basically a group of crafty crafters in one room every week/fortnight/month getting together, creating fantastic crafty bits for themselves or for others and have a good old chin wag about anything and everything! And when I say craft I mean it in the broadest sense! You could be into anything creative- jewellery making, knitting, customisation etc. Also, if you have any bits like material, buttons, balls of wool, that you don’t think you’ll use or wouldn’t mind other’s using then bring it a long and I’m sure someone else would want a go at it!
The Old Town Hall on Boot Hill is a wonderful venue for this kind of event, if you haven’t already been then it’s well worth a look when it has things on such as exhibitions! By holding it there we will have the freedom to choose music to listen to (bring a CD along!), a tea and coffee making area (any donations for the renovation are taken for each cup), a real fire for when it gets chilly and a brilliant creative, rustic atmosphere.
Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th July, 11am-4.30pm. The ‘Weymouth Through Time’ event expands this weekend at Weymouth Old Town Hall. ‘Pike and Shot Events’ have organised several re-enactors in Tudor costume to talk, show various artifacts & set-ups and demonstrate cooking of the period. Colourfull, informative and entertaining! Admission: Free.
